Calathea Insignis – Rattlesnake Plant

The plant more commonly known as the Rattlesnake Plant (the Calathea Insignis) is yet another member of the Calathea genus which copes extremely well in a variety of indoor environments.

It prefers humid environments such as a bathroom or conservatory but would also appreciate a location where partial shade is almost ever-present. Twice or three times a month in Summertime you should water this plant so that the soil is kept to a moist level. The regularity in watering can then be dropped in Winter where you should only water the plant when the top soil is dry to touch.
